Response to Intervention

OISM is a conceptual three-tiered framework of supports and interventions for all students within which a response to intervention (RtI) process can be implemented. Response to Intervention

RtI addresses student needs through use of data that focus on student performance and learning rate to provide high-quality instruction and intervention at each tier of support.

OISM and RtI share key components such as a three-tiered model of service delivery, use of a collaborative problem-solving process, and an integrated academic and behavior data collection system to inform instructional decisions at each tier.

Like OISM, RtI is an integrated approach to service delivery that encompasses general and special education. Look for more about RtI as a systems change framework at the following resources and visit the Response to Intervention (RTI) project page located on the NASDSE Website
